I am in Washington DC which is in a state of basketball euphoria after Maryland upset (1) UNC this afternoon. Of course Duquesne dropped the ball and lost by one to Fordham, this is not the best environment for me to be in while I deal with a crippling Dukes' loss.
Game Wrap Up
Box Score
All of Duquesne's loses have come on the road with the exception of their 5 point loss to Pitt.
Bryant Dunston went nuts on the Dukes going for 15 points, 16 rebounds, and 8 offensive rebounds. Duquesne has not learned how to stop a muscular big man.
What does this mean for Duquesne? If the Dukes want to make the NCAAs they can only lose one more game the rest of the regular season, and that will only put them on the bubble of the big dance.
The Dukes will play the Bonnies on Wednesday at home in what I would call a must win game for the Dukes to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive.

Duke, the game against the Bonnies is on Wednesday January 23rd.
Duke, I am just a fan but once Rams successfully slowed Dukes down I was hoping to see Archara low and James high at same time. This would have kept Dunstun underneath and let James operate at 10 ft and out.At 6-10.6-10 I think the height in a slower game would have helped.
Everyone is going to try and slow this team down this way so why not use height and pound it in?
With Saunders 6-9 and playing that way run him in and out with Clark and rotate 4 guards like 10/40 to apply press on ball handlers and not be tired?
Lets get Bona!
Duke, I would say that as a team (and as fans), they need to focus on a winning season and the NIT. The tourney is a longshot at this point. They struggle on the road and havn't figured out a way to beat a good team in a close game. I don't think this team is ready to make the leap this year. Baby steps I guess. Yesterday was very frustrating. Great blog by the way.
